Lone Walk Home

Happy is a friendly laugh
Ecstatic is a kiss
Justice is a good man’s wrath
Friendly strangers simply bliss

Sadness is in solitude
The madness is the fall
To kill a sad man’s goodness
Around him build a wall

Tipsy world’s-a-spinnin’
Ears so warm and red
A long walk home alone no ‘Dear’
A cold and lonely bed

A cold and lonely fortnight
A cold and lonely month
A cold and lonely long life
So cold the day you’re done

A forge will burn your spirit
And turn your woe to gold
Your eyes will turn to crystal
(But all your joy now laced with mold)
